Itinerary

Tour Programm

Notice the difference to mass tourism with the drive from the Hurghada hotels. Enjoy the ride in our air-conditioned vehicle alone or together with friends in a group of max. 7 people. We take you to the most diverse sides of Cairo

Culture:

Egyptian Museum – Saladin Citadel – Old Cairo with Abu Serga Church – Hanging Church

Oriental Flair:

The impressive bazaar Khan el Khalili Cairo

Cairo, the world metropolis awaits you with our first destination, the

Egyptian Museum

Egyptian Museum: You think a visit to a museum is boring? Let us convince you of the opposite! No one expects these monumental statues, that are often staying in open-air museums, here in these halls. The Egyptian Museum awaits you with some of the most extreme masterpieces of antiquity. The exhibition ranges from filigree jewellery of the pharaohs to some impressive statues of them. Enjoy the private tour and don't miss visiting the world-famous sarcophagus of the child King Tutankhamun among all the thousands upon thousands of artefacts.

After leaving the Egyptian Museum, we continue our tour by driving through Cairo City. Marvel at how the traffic meanders over several lanes on our way to the next attraction, the Saladin Citadel.

Saladin Citadel – Alabaster Mosque

The Saladin Citadel is located on one of the most beautiful heights of Cairo city. Built on a hill in Cairo on the Mokattam Plateau with a view over the capital of Egypt, the Saladin Citadel is considered to be the best-preserved monumental fortress. It houses the Mosque of Muhammad Ali, also known as Alabaster Mosque, which was completed between 1830 and 1848. Being built on a hill you will have an overview of a large part of the city. With good visibility, you can even see the Pyramids of Giza from up here.

Below the Saladin Citadel is Cairo's most beautiful green area, Al Azhar Park, with a great view over Cairo, which the residents use for their weekend excursions. We take a lunch break in a restaurant nearby before we continue our tour to Old Cairo. Enjoy the traditional Egyptian food!

Abu Serga Church – Hanging Church – Old Cairo

Abu Serga Church and the Hanging Church are waiting for us in Old Cairo. Here in the Cairo Coptic area is probably the oldest Coptic Church in Egypt, the famous Hanging Church, which belongs to the Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria. The Hanging Church got its name from the construction in the city wall.

With the Abu Serga Church (known as St Sergius and St Bacchus Church), we visit the place, where the Holy Family sought refuge while fleeing from Herod. Differences arose between the two churches after the patriarch held ceremonies in the Hanging Church, which were initially held in the Abu Serga Church. Don't be afraid to ask our Egyptologist for details!

Looking for some oriental flair? We take you into the world of trade to the

Khan el Khalili Cairo

The Khan el Khalili Cairo is one of the largest bazaars in the Orient. Let the oriental atmosphere of the Khan el Khalili bazaar sink in! Here on one of the oldest bazaars in the Middle East, oriental fragrances, Egypt's famous oils for perfume production, a wide variety of teas, souvenirs and, oriental handicrafts await you.

Take your time and walk through the alleys of the Khan el Khalili Cairo. After a day with Egyptian Museum - Saladin Citadel - Abu Serga Church - Hanging Church - Khan el Khalili Cairo, we start our return trip from our Hurghada Cairo trip to your hotel in Hurghada.
