Itinerary

Day 1: Pyramids, Sphinx, Valley Temple, Egyptian Museum

Cairo, the world metropolis awaits you!

Already with the drive from your El Gouna hotels, you will feel the difference to mass tourism! Alone or with friends in a small group of up to 7 people, you will enjoy the relaxing and entertaining ride in our air-conditioned vehicles.

After arriving in Cairo, we start with the visit of the

Pyramids of Giza

Pyramids of Giza, visit one of the landmarks of Egypt’s capital and one of the 7 wonders of the ancient world

Our experienced Egyptologist welcomes you here and helps you with all your questions. The 3 Pyramids of Giza (the large Cheops, medium Chephren and small Menkaure) are located on the outskirts of Cairo on the Giza Plateau.

Various theories have emerged about the construction of the Pyramids of Giza, which were built over 4.000 years ago.

Standing on the Giza Plateau, you will ask yourself: How did the Egyptians manage to create this masterpiece over 4.000 years ago without any mechanical help? Our Egyptologist will explain a bit about the construction.

Great Sphinx of Giza

Great Sphinx of Giza: After staying at the 3 Pyramids of Giza for a while, our Egyptologist will lead you to the Great Sphinx. The impressive lion statue with its human head acts as a guardian over the Giza Necropolis. From the location of the Great Sphinx of Giza, you can spot the Giza Valley Temple, our next destination.

Giza Valley Temple

Giza Valley Temple, an ancient Egyptian temple, also known as Valley Temple of Khafre, is located at the foot of the Chephren Pyramid. The unfinished Giza Valley Temple is only 10 Meters away from the Great Sphinx of Giza.

The Giza Valley Temple is the last stop of our visit to the Giza Plateau.

Cairo - Cairo Day Trips – Cairo Sights

We take a break from our Cairo Alexandria 2 Days – El Gouna day trips for a stop in a local restaurant for a traditional lunch. After lunch, we continue our trip to the next destination, the

Egyptian Museum

Egyptian Museum Cairo: The Egyptian Museum Cairo awaits you with the most extreme masterpieces of antiquity, be it the filigree jewelry of the pharaohs or breathtaking statues of them. We can guarantee that you won’t get bored in this museum! None of you will expect these monumental statues in a museum. Usually, these can just be seen in an open-air museum. Enjoy the advantage of a private tour and let yourself be guided to the world-famous sarcophagus of the child King Tutankhamun among all the thousands upon thousands of artefacts.

After visiting the impressive Cairo Museum, we start our trip back to your accommodation in Cairo.

Day 2: Cairo - Alexandria

For the trip from Cairo to Alexandria early in the morning, you will get a lunchbox from the Hotel in Cairo. After our arrival in Alexandria we first visit the catacombs Alexandria (catacombs of Kom el Shoqafa).

Catacombs of Alexandria,

created by Greek-Roman builders for a wealthy family that cultivated a mixture of Egyptian, Roman and Greek religion, was once home for over 300 mummies

A spiral staircase leads to the underground passages of the catacombs Alexandria, the reliefs of which reflect the various religions. During our tour through Alexandria, we pass Pompeys Pillar. The 25m high granite pillar from the 3rd century was erected in honour of Diocletian, emperor at that time. Our next destination of the fascinating Alexandria sites is the Qaitbay Citadel.

Qaitbay Citadel,

a fortress on Alexandria's Mediterranean coast, served with its location the defence of Alexandria. The Citadel was built as a protection against the Ottomans and the increasing danger of any attack. Before that, a lighthouse was standing at this spot but was destroyed by an earthquake. We visit the Qaitbay Citadel before heading to our next site on our Alexandria sightseeing, the famous

Library of Alexandria.

Library of Alexandria is home to the world most extensive collection of historical and contemporary writing. Our guide will explain more about the history of the Alexandria Library to you, the catastrophic fire that destroyed a huge part of the collection and the loans from all over the world, which made the library the most extensive "reference book" in the world.

Of course, we also make a break for lunch in a local restaurant. The exact place we discuss with you on our Alexandria sightseeing tour.

Montaza Palace

Montaza Palace is the last highlight we visit on our Alexandria sightseeing tour. The Palace is located at the Alexandria Port in the public Montaza Park. On the site of the Montaza ParkFuad I of Egypt (Sultan and later King of Egypt) built the impressive Al-Haramlik Palace, his summer residence, whose open arcades allow a view over the sea.

Our Cairo - Alexandria - El Gouna day trips incl. Overnight stay ends with a visit at the Montaza Palace, after which we start our journey back to your accommodation in El Gouna.
