Day 1: Aswan - Kalabsha Temple - Kertassi kiosk
After welcoming you at your arrival in Aswan, our employee will accompany you for check-in at the SAI Dahabiya at Lake Nasser.
After an extensive lunch, we leave the Lake Nasser Cruise Ship to visit Kalabsha Temple, which is only about 1 km away from Aswan Dam. The temple complex, originally 50 km away located, was saved from the floods of Lake Nasser in an extensive UNESCO aid program. Like the Kertassi Kiosk, it was rebuilt on a hill that stands out of the water like an island. In an architectural masterpiece 13.000 neatly dismantled and numbered stone blocks were rebuilt.
Back on board, it's time the enjoy the amenities while we anchor in Aswan for the rest of the day.
Day 2: Wadi El Seboua - Amun-Re - Dakka - Meharrakka temple group
Early in the morning, we drive to Wadi El Seboua (Valley of the Lions) to visit the temple of Wadi El Seboua. It is the name of a formerly important place on a caravan route where Sphingen lined the Amun Temple, one of the various temples of Ramses II. Our program also includes the Temple of Toth from Dakka and the Temple of Meharrakka. Since 1979 these temples are one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites and were relocated in 1964 to protect them from the water masses.
Back on board, we make our way to Amada.
Day 3: Derr Temple Amada – Tomb of Pennut
Today we visit the impressive Derr Temple, also built by Ramses II and relocated to rescue it from the floods of Lake Nasser. The temple complex can now be viewed at the island of New Amada. Its construction is similar to that of the Abu Simbel Temple, but it doesn’t come close to the size and peculiarity of the location, which is illuminated by the rays of the sun. Here we also visit the
Tomb of Pennut - Amada
