Day 1: Arrival Aswan – Embarkation
For embarkation on the luxury
MS Blue Shadow, our
Sempre Travel Egypt employee will pick you up from
Aswan airport, train station or your accommodation in
Aswan, depending on your arrival.
On your first day of vacation, you have time to relax on board the
MS Blue Shadow enjoy an excellent lunch, afternoon tea and dinner on board. You will also get a foretaste of the following days of our
Nile Cruise. Is the time until a relaxed sleep to discover the various decks and entertainment programs of the luxury
MS Blue Shadow.
Day 2: Aswan - Doppel Temple Kom Ombo
In the early morning, we start with the drive to the first attraction of our exclusive
Nile Cruise with
MS Blue Shadow towards
Kom Ombo. Enjoy your breakfast on board before we drop anchor around the famous
Kom Ombo Temple. The somewhat unusual
doppel temple Kom Ombo consists of two parts. One side is dedicated to
Sobek crocodile god and the other part to the
Egyptian god Haroeris.
Back on board, we leave for the onward journey to
Edfu. After lunch you have time to enjoy the beautiful view of the banks of the
Nile River with a coffee on deck during the approximately one-hour trip to
Edfu.
We continue driving along the
Nile River for dinner and an overnight stay in
Esna.
Day 3: Luxor West Bank - Valley of the Kings - Hatshepsut Temple - Colossi of Memon
Early in the morning, we continue our way to
Luxor where, after breakfast on board, our Egyptologist will take you to the first famous sight of
Luxor West Bank, the
Valley of the Kings
The pharaohs had their tombs built in the shelter of these rocks with the intention of protecting them from grave robbers. Unfortunately, this plan did not work out, and several graves fell victim to grave robbers and were robbed even before archaeologists discovered them.
We reach the
Valley of the Kings and with a small train, continue our way up to the actual entrance where you get your entry ticket to visit 3 tombs. Our Egyptologist will help you choose the most interesting tombs.
From the
Valley of the Kings, we continue our way to
Hatshepsut Temple
Hatshepsut, the only female ruler of Egypt for more than 22 years, had this architectural masterpiece built at a particularly strategic location in the rocky mountains with a view over the banks of the
Nile River. To this day, the terraced
Hatshepsut Temple can keep up with the most modern construction methods.
We leave the impressive terraced
temple complex behind us and on the way back to
Luxor East Bank, we make a photo stop at the
Colossi of Memnon
The two massive statues served as guards and formerly belonged to the
Mortuary Temple of Amenhotep III.
Back on the ship, you can enjoy lunch, afternoon tea and a delicious evening dinner. Take part in the entertainment programs on board before a relaxing night.
Day 4: Luxor East Bank - Karnak Temple - Luxor Temple
Your day starts right after breakfast on board with a visit to the world's largest
temple complex, the impressive
Karnak Temple
While walking through the massive
Hypostyle Hall with its pillars, our Egyptologist will share with you some more interesting information about the history of
Karnak Temple. After some time admiring the monumental statues as well as the
Obelisk, we will visit the "
Holy Lake" in the outer area of
Karnak Temple before we continue to
Luxor Temple
which unites
3 religions in one
temple complex. Already from the beautiful promenade of
Luxor, you can spot
Luxor Temple. One of the most important temple complexes in the time of worshipping the gods. Inside the
temple complex are church ruins and a Mosque.
Back on board, it is time to relax on deck while enjoying the afternoon tea. After dinner, you can enjoy your overnight stay in
Luxor.
Day 5: Relaxation on the Nile Cruise towards Esna
You spend your vacation on a first-class ship, and today it's time to relax a bit. While the ship makes its way upriver towards
Esna. After breakfast you should grab the chance to enjoy the landscape of the
Nile River from the sun deck, the villages that come to life early in the morning, farmers tilling their fields, children who go to school dressed in their school uniforms and women doing their shopping or carrying crops on their head back home (maybe you should give this a try back home).
After arriving in
Esna, we anchor there for the night, and in addition to enjoying the exclusive cuisine on board, we offer you an extensive entertainment program.
Day 6: Edfu Horus Temple
After breakfast on board, we start our onward journey to
Edfu and make our way to visit the
Temple of Horus. The famous
Edfu Temple (also known as
Horus Temple) is one of the best-preserved temples in
Egypt and is located on the
East Bank of the
Nile River.
Thanks to the impressive skills of the builders, the
Edfu Temple appears in different colors in the sunlight. The
temple complex, dedicated to the
Egyptian falcon god Horus has a history shaped by many
religious battles and was known throughout the country as a special place of worship during the time of the pharaohs.
We continue our way to
Kom Ombo
Enjoy the wonderful view of the banks of the
Nile River with its typical villages during the excursion.
We spend the rest of the day on board, where you can indulge the excellent food and the sun on the deck. For the night we stay in
Kom Ombo before continuing our way to
Aswan in the morning.
Day 7: Aswan sights - Aswan Dam - Philae Temple - Unfinished Obelisk
Strengthen yourself with the extensive breakfast on board for today's tour in
Aswan. We disembark for the trip to the famous
Aswan Dam
The massive dam regulates the electricity supply to
Egypt and is used to control the water level of the
Nile River. The
Aswan High Dam is not the first dam in Egypt. We continue our excursion to the
Aswan sights with a visit to the "
Old Aswan Dam" and the
Philae Temple
located on an island. The
Philae Temple was saved from its original location on
Philae Island when
Lake Nasser was flooded and rebuilt on the now called
Agilkia Island. Since 1979 the
Philae Temple is one of the
UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Enjoy the journey to the island with one of the boats waiting for us at the jetty, and don't hesitate to ask your tour guide for some more details about the interesting history of
Philae Temple.
For lunch, we are back on board. After that, we make our way by boat to a wonderful "place of nature".
Aswan Botanical Garden
gilded with its various tropical and subtropical plants became one of the most important centers for botanical research.
Aswan Botanical Garden is home to various plantations and rare trees and is located on the famous 650 meters long and 115 meters wide
Kitchener’s Island.
For your afternoon coffee, dinner and overnight stay on board in
Aswan, we drive back to the ship.
Day 8: Aswan Disembarkation
Today our
Luxury Nile Cruise with the luxury
MS Blue Shadow ends, and after your breakfast, we accompany you to
Aswan Airport, train station or one of the
Aswan Hotels.
