Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival Airport Cairo – Cairo Hotel

Our Sempre Travel Egypt employee welcomes you on arrival at Cairo Airport, helps you with the visa formalities and accompanies you to your Cairo Hotels.

You have booked one of the interesting Egypt tour packages, and if this is your first time in Cairo, you will be overwhelmed by the hustle and bustle of the metropolis on the transfer to the hotel. The multi-lane roads are teeming with cars and buses, and it's impressive to see how people manage to cross the lanes.

After checking in at the hotel, you have time to relax, or you can join us for one of the optional city tours. Ask our staff about the possibilities to explore Cairo at night, the city that never sleeps.

Day 2: Cairo Pyramids – Memphis – Saqqara

Our first sight are the

Pyramids of Giza


After breakfast, we make our way to one of the most popular Cairo landmarks. One of our experienced Egyptologists will accompany you to the outskirts of Cairo, the impressive Cheops Pyramid, the middle-sized Chephren Pyramid, together with the smallest pyramid of the three, the Pyramid of Menkaure, await their visitors on the Giza Plateau.

After looking at the majestic constructions from the foot of the pyramids, we take a quick look at the ruler and guardian of the Giza Plateau, the Great Sphinx of Giza. A world-famous mystical statue with the head of a human and the body of a lion.

We leave Giza for a trip back in time to Memphis, the capital of ancient Egypt.

Memphis - Saqqara Necropolis


For thousands of years, Memphis was home to various pharaohs and in a period of over 3.000 years, a massive necropolis was formed with countless catacombs, mastabas, tombs, mortuary temple as well as pyramids.

We visit the ruins of the former capital of Egypt and then continue our day at the Saqqara necropolis where we will see one of the oldest pyramids, the Saqqara step pyramid, also known as Pyramid of Djoser, named after its builder. The Saqqara Step Pyramid is only one of the more than 100 pyramids that were built outside Cairo. Archaeologists consider the Pyramid of Djoser to be the forerunner of the pyramid construction and predecessor of the 3 Pyramids of Giza.

The Saqqara Step Pyramid is located in the northern section of the Saqqara Necropolis, divided into two areas. The pyramid construction consists of 6 stacked panels of various sizes, which form their step shape up to a height of 62 m.

After a detailed tour of this excavation site, which is still very popular with archaeologists, we take you back to your Cairo Hotels. Like in the evening before, we have some optional ideas for you on how to discover Cairo at night. Otherwise, we wish you a good night.

Day 3: Cairo Egyptian Museum – Saladin Citadel – Khan el Khalili Cairo Egypt

Next morning our archaeologist will take you to one of the most important collections of Egyptian history, the thousands upon thousands of artifacts of the

which stands out from every other museum in the world. Upon entering the Egyptian Museum, you become part of the history of the pharaohs, massive statues, fine filigree goldwork, palace furnishing, a wide variety of grave goods and thousands of artifacts found in excavations all over Egypt, but especially in Luxor.

An absolute highlight of this exhibition is the grave goods of the Tutankhamun tomb with the golden death mask of Tutankhamun. You will notice that a visit to the Egyptian Museum is a must while staying in Cairo. From here, we drive through downtown Cairo towards

Saladin Citadel


The Citadel of Saladin, a strategically cleverly designed fortress, is located on a hill in Cairo known as Mokattam Mountain. While visiting the Pyramids, you may have asked yourself where the original cladding is. Here at this place in Cairo, you will get the answer. The fortress, built in the 13th century by Sultan Salahuddin, was partly built with the stolen stone blocks from the pyramids!

Inside the Saladin Citadel located is the impressive

Alabaster Mosque


which minarets are visible from far away and a point of reference for many in Cairo. After an explosion in the ammunition dump, the Alabaster Mosque was built by Muhammad Ali in the destroyed part of the citadel based on the model of the Turkish Mosques in Istanbul.

Khan el Khalili Cairo Egypt


Located in Old Cairo, we visit the famous Khan el Khalili Cairo Egypt, one of the oldest and biggest markets in Africa. We accompany you to a large oriental market (souq) from the 14th century built on a former mausoleum site as a caravanserai (Arabic = Khan) and trading center. To this day, you can still feel the turbulent history of the bazaar. In the 15th century, this place was not only a famous trading center for valuable stones but also served as a place for the slave trade.

Nowadays, Khan El Khalili Cairo Egypt with its oriental flair from small shops in the narrow streets, and craftsmen who offer their art on the streets, takes its visitors on a sensual excursion in “1001 Nights”, with a wide range of teas, oils and oriental fragrances. The perfect place to purchase some souvenirs.

After a stroll through the alleys of Khan el Khalili Cairo Egypt, we take you back to your Cairo Hotels, where you will spend the night and can get ready for the next day, the start of your beach vacation in Hurghada.

Day 4: Cairo to Hurghada bus – Hurghada vacation

Early in the morning, you will check out from your Cairo Hotels for the Cairo to Hurghada bus transfer. Hurghada, one of the most famous Red Sea resort Egypt awaits you. With an air-conditioned bus, the journey takes us from Cairo towards the Red Sea coast, from where the road to Hurghada runs along the shore. Expect a relaxing ride with a great sunrise over the desert landscape. Enjoy the view of the Red Sea on your left and the desert mountains on your right.

Upon arrival in Hurghada, we drive you to your Hurghada Hotels for your beach vacations. Welcome to Hurghada, the largest seaside resort of the Red Sea and a popular destination for beach vacations and fans from diving and snorkeling from all over the world.

The former fishing village of Hurghada (Al Ghardaqa Egypt) slowly grew in the 1970s (in the beginning, only a few people got lost here) and continuously grew to become a popular tourist destination on the Red Sea. After the check-in in your Hurghada Hotels, our tour guide will be happy to help you with planning your beach vacations. Sempre Travel Egypt calls Hurghada its home, and we have the perfect excursion for everybody.

Day 5. - 7: Hurghada Vacation

A Hurghada vacation means relaxing from everyday life, but not everyone relaxes in the same way. Our tour guide has a wide range of optional excursions and activities in his pockets, and we are sure to find something suitable for you.

In Hurghada, you are in the middle of a world-famous paradise for diving and snorkeling, the Red Sea. In addition to relaxing on the sandy beach of your hotel, there are countless water sport activities available like snorkeling, diving trips by boat (for beginners and professionals incl. wreck diving!), Banana boat or paragliding. Besides that, we also offer various safaris into the desert interior and many day tours from Hurghada.

A highlight is the Sindbad Submarine which allows you to discover the Red Sea underwater world to a depth of 22 meter without getting your feet wet. This really is an adventure for the whole family! You will see that it's never getting boring in Hurghada. In the evening many coffee shops and the New Marina Hurghada invite you o stroll, shop and linger all year round.

Day 8: End of Hurghada vacation – Luxor East Bank

Your Hurghada vacation slowly comes to an end. Early in the morning, we start with our journey to Luxor, known as the largest open-air museum in the world. Our way leads through a desert landscape whose road meanders through a wonderful rocky mountain range towards the fertile banks of the Nile River. In the morning, we pass by villages that come to life and show the real everyday life in Egypt. Children in their school uniforms on the way to school, farmers who work on their fields, TukTuks (Used for transport inside the villages) etc. Enjoy this wonderful trip which is a sight for itself.

In Luxor, you will be welcomed by our Egyptologist, and together we make our way to visit the first Luxor sights, the world-famous

Karnak Temple


The Karnak Temple consists of several temples and is considered one of the biggest temple complexes in the world. While walking through the huge Hypostyle Hall, which you enter first after the entrance, our Egyptologist will give you some interesting information about the history of Karnak Temple complex.

After some overwhelming impressions of the monumental columns, statues and the tall obelisk inside the temple, with a weight of more than 300 tons, we continue our tour to the “Holy Lake” in the outer area of Karnak Temple. At the time of the Pharaohs, the Lake was used for ritual ablutions.

From here, we start to the second Luxor attractions on Luxor East Bank, the

Luxor Temple


The Luxor Temple is located directly on the beautiful promenade of Luxor. In contrast to Karnak Temple, it functioned as a coronation temple and houses 3 religions in ist complex, the actual temple for worshipping the gods, a mosque and the ruins of a church. Also, in this temple complex, you will encounter wonderful columns. There is no big hall like the one in Karnak Temple, but 14 high columns form a collonade.

Leaving the Luxor Temple, you will see the Sphinx Avenue, a processional way between Karnak Temple and Luxor Temple, restored in years of excavation and restoration work.

After an extensive tour through these two famous temples, we will drive you to your Hotel Luxor Egypt to relax a bit. Do you still have some energy left? Our guide will be happy to accompany you to an optional event in the evening, the Karnak Sound and Light Show, a worthwhile experience!

Day 9: Luxor West Bank

Very early in the morning, right after breakfast in the hotel, we set off to the opposite side of the Nile River, the Luxor West Bank. Here one of the best-preserved temples on the West Bank of Luxor awaits us, the wonderful

Habu Temple


The remarkable Habu Temple, located on the West Bank of the Nile River, was built by Ramses III in Medinet Habu. Its walls and columns show beautiful and very well-preserved reliefs that tell the story of its builder and his battles and victory against Libyan tribes and several sea people.

Upon entering the temple complex, you will notice that excavations are still taking place to this day to restore the temple to its original state. In 1891 a church, built in 1859, together with the houses built in other parts of the temple complex, were removed. At that time, residents found shelter behind the walls of Habu Temple. After the residents left the village, the demolition work started to bring the Habu Temple back to its original condition.

We leave the temple complex behind us and drive towards the world-famous main attraction at the West Bank.

Valley of the Kings


After reaching Valley of the Kings, we take a small train to the actual entrance. Here you can choose which 3 tombs you would like to see (already included in the entrance ticket). The visit to the world-famous Tomb of Tutankhamun with his mummy is not included in the entrance ticket. At the entrance of the Valley of the Kings, you can purchase a special ticket.

Our archaeologist will be happy to give you some advice on which 3 tombs are the most interesting ones to visit. When entering the individual graves in the Valley of the Kings, you come across wonderfully preserved wall paintings that tell you the story of the pharaoh. To the amazement of all the visitors, the splendor of color has been preserved to this day, and the tomb guard will be happy to give you some more information.

We leave the Valley of the Kings to make our way to another Luxor sights, the

Hatshepsut Temple


Queen Hatshepsut was the most-famous female ruler that reigns over Egypt for more than 22 years and built this architectural masterpiece in a very strategic location in the rocky mountains of Luxor West Bank.

The upper part of Hatshepsut Temple can be reached by a lot of steps and allows from the front a view over the wide banks of the Nile River and is secured in the back by the rock wall. To this day, the terraced temple can keep up with the most modern construction methods. At the top of the Hatshepsut Temple, you will be surprised by the well-preserved reliefs around the masonry. Our Egyptologist is always available to answer any questions you may have about the history of the Hatshepsut Temple. When leaving the temple, let your gaze wander over the Nile Valley. You sure will understand the intentions of Queen Hatshepsut when building the temple.

After that, we make our way back to the hotel at the opposite bank of the Nile River, where you can spend a relaxing night.

Day 10: Train Luxor to Cairo

Early in the morning, you will say goodbye to Luxor and be brought to the Luxor train station by one of our representatives. From here, you take the sleeper train to Cairo.

For your overnight stay, you will check into one of the wonderful Cairo Hotels. On the last day of your Egypt Tour 11 Day with Cairo Luxor and Hurghada Vacation, you can design according to your wishes. Take a stroll through Cairo on your own, enjoy the culture or go shopping at one of the markets. After that, you can take a rest in one of the many cafes along the promenade. Of course, it's also possible to join our tour guide on an optional excursion to some of the other Cairo attractions.

Day 11: Return flight to your home country

After breakfast in the Cairo Hotels and the checkout, we will take you to Cairo Airport for your flight back home and hope you had a great time in this amazing country.
